March 2009

Carnival comes to Northbourne!

In February 2009, to launch a new creative development plan, Northbourne had the opportunity to spend time working with professional artists.

Hola!

This year we have a long-term guest in school, Senora Maru. She is teaching Spanish across the school and also learning about our country and language.

The Aztecs in Grey Class!

This term our topic is The Amazing Aztecs.

We have learned about the great city of Tenochtitlan and Aztec clothing, where and when they existed, and will be looking at their clothing, food, religion, family life, art and how they came to an end.

For our Home Learning project this term we will be making our own Aztec items - clothing, jewellery, weapons, or models of their Temples. This work is all going to be displayed in class on the last Thursday of term.

Here are some pictures of the Atec art we have already done:

Story Character Fancy Dress

Teachers and pupils at Northbourne dressed up as a character from their favourite book on Friday. Can you tell who each of the teachers is dressed as?
