In February 2009, to launch a new creative development plan, Northbourne had the opportunity to spend time working with professional artists.

The theme for the carnival was "transport" and the artists worked across the school to help the children produce masks, banners, flags and floats for a parade around the school grounds.

There were steam engines, cars, limousines and boats. The event was well supported by parents and friends who turned up to watch and the children had a great time learning new skills and working with new materials.
