Eco-Schools Award for Northbourne

This week, we found out we have been awarded the Eco-Schools silver award! This is to recognise all of the work on saving energy and re-using and recycling our waste we have done in school.
We would like to thank Mrs. Steel and the parents and children who make up the eco-team, as their hard work leading this project has meant we have been able to achieve this nationally recognised award.

Welcome back

… to the start of a brand-new school year. We hope that you all had a relaxing holiday, and that your children have enjoyed meeting their new teachers and started to settle into their new classes. It was lovely to see so many smartly dressed, excited children come back through the gates on Thursday!

Plas Pencelli Residential Trip

IMG_0623.JPGOne of the highlights of this year for the pupils in Brown and Mauve classes was their week-long residential to Plas Pencelli in Wales. Although the weather wasn't brilliant - and we actually saw snow on one of the days! - everyone had an excellent time.

Terrapin Transformation!

As part of the "Change Schools" project, the terrapins have now been fully re-painted!

DSC00071.JPGJessica, the lead artist, worked with Grey Class to produce this amazing display. It started with templates being drawn of everyday classroom objects, outlines of children (and adults!) and then transferred onto the outside of the building.
